Hansen: 3 months of Conservative government and little action on housing

Halifax- Suzy Hansen, NDP Housing spokesperson made the following statement to mark November 22 as National Housing Day:

“It’s been three months since the Conservatives took office and there are still hundreds of people without a roof over their heads. The cost of renting a home is still rising well above inflation, and saving for a downpayment is still out of reach for many people. November 22 is National Housing Day in Canada. To mark this important date, I want to renew our call for permanent rent control, a rapid increase in affordable housing, and an emphasis on support for co-op and non-profit housing.
