What is the Premier’s office working on?
HALIFAX -- According to documents released to the NDP Caucus the Premier’s Office has no records of any correspondence on important issues such as COVID-19 budget implications and child care for essential workers.
In response to a Freedom of Information request for “any correspondence between Premier’s Office staff and other government officials related to budget implications of covid related expenses across government” the Premier’s Office says they have “located no record responsive to your application.”
In response to a request for any “correspondence within the office of the Premier (Premier, Deputy Minister, Communications staff, Premier’s Executive Assistant) and with other departments regarding decisions about providing access to child care for essential workers” the response was, “we have located no record responsive to your application.”
When all correspondence regarding “public health restrictions and public health orders (limited to correspondence involving Premier, Premier's Executive Assistant, Deputy Minister or Communications Officers)” was requested, the response was “we have located no record responsive to your application.”
And when looking for any and all “correspondence with public health regarding COVID-19 case reporting” the response was “after a file search, we have located no record responsive to your application.”
With responses like these, the question has to be asked: What is the Premier’s office working on?
