Nova Scotia NDP amplifies calls for ceasefire

NDP Leader Claudia Chender today made the following statement:

We in the Nova Scotia NDP caucus condemn the brutal and terrifying attacks by Hamas, and the bombing and violence inflicted on Palestinian civilians in the region.

Thousands of lives have been lost and there is an unfolding humanitarian crisis in Gaza. We stand with all Nova Scotians, especially Jews and Palestinians as well as those around the world who are grieving and worried for their friends and family in the region.

We must all work actively to address the rising tone of hate, anti-semitism and Islamophobia we’ve seen around the globe following these attacks.

I ask all members of the Legislature join me in amplifying calls for the the release of hostages, the establishment of humanitarian pathways, a political and diplomatic solution to the crisis, and a ceasefire in the region.
