Statement by NDP Leader Gary Burrill on Cape Breton health care sit-in

SYDNEY- NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement about the sit-in organized today by Capers 4 Healthcare:

“As has been described by doctors, health care workers, patients, paramedics, and many others, health care in Cape Breton is at a breaking point. Still, the Liberal government refuses to make the needed investments in the health care system, and continues to insist that everything is as it should be.

I applaud the actions taken today by Cape Bretoners demanding action from their government.”

On Wednesday, the NDP committed to keep the community hospitals in New Waterford and North Sydney open and called on the other MLAs in CBRM to support this call.
