NSNDP nominates five candidates for next provincial election

Nova Scotia– With the fixed election date of July 15, 2025 less than a year away, the Nova Scotia NDP continues to nominate candidates for the next provincial election.

Dr. Rod Wilson was nominated as the NSNDP candidate for Halifax Armdale at a meeting yesterday. Nova Scotia New Democrats nominated five candidates this week. They are:

• Dr. Rod Wilson - Halifax Armdale
• Tammy Jakeman - Eastern Passage
• Donna McCarthy - Waverley-Fall River-Beaver Bank
• Cheryl Burbidge - Annapolis
• Rose Gillam - Timberlea-Prospect

“From the Valley, to the Eastern Shore, and beyond, we have amazing Nova Scotians coming forward to be candidates in the next election,” said NSNDP leader Claudia Chender. “People know that we can do better: to address housing, to ease the cost of living, and to ensure that everyone actually has the health care they need. We need more MLAs who are dedicated to rolling up their sleeves to do the work to make things better. The candidates we’re nominating would make exceptional representatives.”
