McNeil refuses to commit to replace Roseway Manor
NDP will stand up for seniors
SHELBURNE – After being elected in the last provincial election, McNeil’s Liberals promised to honour the NDP’s commitments made to new long-term care facilities. Yet in a recent interview in Shelburne, McNeil continued to refuse to commit to replace the Roseway Manor.
“McNeil's Liberals promised Nova Scotians that they would honour our previous government’s commitments to long-term care facilities and has failed to do so. It’s deceitful and beneath the standard people should expect,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill. “An NDP government will stand up for seniors and restore the cuts to long-term care made by Stephen McNeil. We will invest in seniors and in long-term care facilities.”
This election the NDP has pledged to stand up for seniors and reverse the McNeil Liberals’ cuts to long-term care facilities.
“Roseway Manor long-term care facility is a cornerstone for seniors in our riding and it is in bad need of replacement,” added John Davis, NDP candidate for Queens-Shelburne. “This is not the way Nova Scotians treat our seniors. Former MLA Sterling Belliveau led the fight to get Roseway Manor replaced, and I will continue to be that voice for seniors and their families here in Queens-Shelburne.”
