Martin: Loss of another physician lead is a blow for Cape Breton health care

New Waterford -- NDP Health spokesperson Tammy Martin made the following statement after news that another doctor has resigned their leadership position in Sydney:

“The news today that Dr. Critchley has resigned as Sydney site lead for family medicine is another clear sign that the Liberal government and their provincial health authority are not listening to doctors in Cape Breton.

Health care workers are doing everything they can to provide care for those in need but they aren’t being supported by those at the very top. Losing local decision-making over health care was a huge blow to Cape Breton. The care people receive on the island has gotten worse, not better, since everything was centralized in Halifax.”
