Leblanc: Report highlights extra costs and secrecy around P3 QEII redevelopment
HALIFAX- Susan Leblanc, NDP Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal Spokesperson, made the following statement about the release of a new report from the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives Nova Scotia about the planned QEII P3 healthcare project:
“Today’s report gives further evidence that P3 projects are more expensive and less transparent that traditional public procurement.
Whether it’s cost overruns or higher financing costs, going with a P3 model for our hospital will waste money that could be spent on doctors, nurses, and other front-line health care services.
And while the Liberals claim to have evidence to support P3s, their refusal to release any information or evidence speaks volumes.”
