Chender: Canada has lost a progressive giant with the death of Ed Broadbent

HALIFAX– Claudia Chender, Leader of the Nova Scotia New Democrats made the following statement on the passing of Ed Broadbent:

“Canada has lost a progressive giant and a substantial voice for everyday people with the death of Ed Broadbent.

His honest approach to political life helped him connect with people across Canada and fight for a more just and equitable world. As leader of the federal NDP for 14 years, he had a significant and lasting impact on New Democrats and Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all those who worked with and learned from him and his work. We deeply mourn the passing of an exceptional Canadian.”
