Alec Stratford nominated as NSNDP candidate for Cole Harbour

Cole Harbour – Alec Stratford will be the Nova Scotia New Democrat candidate for Cole Harbour in the next provincial election. Stratford is a social worker and Executive Director of the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. He lives with his partner and child in the Cole Harbour area.

“I want to be the MLA for Cole Harbour to help amplify the voices of those often left unheard. Together with Claudia Chender as Premier I know we can create a more equitable and compassionate Nova Scotia,” said Stratford. “People can see Claudia’s genuine optimism about what’s possible for Nova Scotians and I’m looking forward to campaigning as part of her team.”

Nova Scotia New Democrats are committed to fighting for what matters most to Nova Scotians, improving health care, making housing affordable, and addressing the skyrocketing cost of living increases.

“We are building something special and are excited about the enthusiasm we’re feeling from Nova Scotians. When I’m out in communities across Nova Scotia there is a clear sense of frustration. People know that we can do better: to address housing, to ease the cost of living, and to ensure that everyone actually has the health care they need,” said NSNDP leader Claudia Chender. “We need more MLAs who are committed to solving these challenges, and rolling up their sleeves to do the work to make things better. Alec is a fantastic community champion and we are excited to have him on our team. He brings a deep commitment to the issues that people want to see addressed and a track record for making change.”

Nova Scotia New Democrats are actively nominating candidates across the province. More nominations will be coming over the next weeks and months.
