Auditor General appointment a welcome step

Minister must hold those responsible for this mess acountable

HALIFAX – NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement regarding the ongoing expense scandal at the IWK Hospital:

“I am pleased to learn that the Auditor General will be investigating and auditing the IWK’s books. This is a good step toward restoring public confidence in a very important institution in our province.

Throughout this ordeal the Minister of Health has simply repeated talking points, as though he were preparing for a junior high play.

The public deserves a clear statement from the Liberal government that those found responsible for this mess will be held accountable.”
