Virtual health care an important part of solving health care crisis

HALIFAX -- NDP Health and Wellness spokesperson Susan Leblanc made the following statement in response to today’s announcement on virtual care:

“For the more than 75,000 people on the family doctor wait list, today's announcement will provide some relief. Struggling to access primary care is stressful and people need support.
While this is a good step, we look forward to the changes being made to ensure everyone has in person access to a primary care provider.
We also need to make sure that the doctors and patients who have found virtual care helpful and accessible during the pandemic are able to continue with this option into the future.
The Conservative government needs to do more than just make virtual care available for people without a family doctor and work with Doctors Nova Scotia to provide a permanent billing code for all primary care providers in the province.”
