Statement by NDP Leader Gary Burrill on ambulance services

HALIFAX- NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement on new data released by the paramedics’ union about the number of out-of-service incidents with ambulances:

“Paramedics have been sounding the alarm about the state of emergency care for over a year. Today’s data shows the crisis is getting worse. People need to know that if they need emergency care it will be available to them in a timely way.

In the face of enormous stresses, paramedics, doctors, nurses and other health care workers continue to provide the services that are needed every single day. We need a government that is willing to work with front-line health care workers, and unfortunately, Stephen McNeil and the Liberals are not listening.”
