P3 builds the wrong choice for New Waterford, Northside health centres

New Waterford --Tammy Martin, MLA for Cape Breton Centre and NDP Health Spokesperson, made the following statement in response to news that the province will use a P3 approach to build the community health centres and long-term care facilities in North Sydney and New Waterford:

“This is the wrong choice from the McNeil Liberals. We know P3 developments cost more and take control of our facilities away from the public.

The Liberals decided to close our hospitals without consulting anyone. Now they are planning to privatize these new facilities. Privatizing health care infrastructure will do nothing to ensure people in Cape Breton have the timely access to the health care they need in their communities now.”
