Job summary

Canada’s New Democrats are searching for a Digital Copywriter to join our Digital team. Under the supervision of the Digital Director and reporting directly to the Deputy Director, Digital, the Digital Copywriter will contribute to the success of the digital fundraising and email programs.

Does beautifully written copy, great grammar, and engaging communications get your heart pumping? Then you might be the NDP’s next Digital Copywriter.

Job duties

• Write amazing, engaging content for web, email, video, social media and other digital platforms.
• Assist in developing content and communications strategy for the NDP digital fundraising programs
• Calendar and write fundraising, engagement, and mobilization emails to supporters and donors
• Ensure written materials follow political messaging and standards for brand voice and tone
• Collaborate with digital team to develop compelling and effective end product
• Assist the Fundraising department with written content
• Write content for other organizational departments from time-to-time

Required Skills

• Self-motivated, with the ability to manage time and self-direct workflow
• Exceptional English-language written communications skills
• A knack for “nailing it” on the first try
• Innately curious and creative, with a desire to embrace a steep learning curve
• Unique, personal, and developed writing style
• 1+ years relevant work experience for a non-profit organization, political organization, consumer brand or brand-oriented agency.
• Knowledge of the New Democratic Party, its history, policies, and of Canadian politics in general

Assets

• Familiarity with mass email programs such as Blue State Digital
• Experience in fundraising and/or writing fundraising copy
• Bilingualism

As per our staff collective agreement
