Nova Scotia needs to build tens of thousands of new homes – and fast. Prefabricated and modular homes can be quickly assembled and cost less than traditional homes.

Expand the Down Payment Assistance Program

Nova Scotia’s current Down Payment Assistance Program isn’t working for those who need it the most.

  • Help lower overall mortgages and monthly costs for first-time homeowners by providing larger down payments and longer repayment periods.
  • Expand the loan from five to 10 per cent of the purchase price, up to $50,000.
  • Extend the repayment period from 10 to 25 years.
