Director of Field Organizing - Halifax, NS
The Nova Scotia New Democratic Party is seeking an experienced field organizer to take on a senior role in preparing for the next provincial election.
Under the supervision of the Provincial Director, the Director of Field Organizing will be responsible for Electoral District Association (EDA) development, candidate recruitment, identifying and training activists, preparing campaign resources, and overall election preparedness.

Duties:
- Assist New Democrat EDAs in pre-election organizing including the development of pre-election and election campaign plans for ridings across the province.
- Recruit candidates and support the nomination process.
- Assist Electoral District Associations in meeting their statutory obligations.
- Work with Electoral District Associations in outreach initiatives including membership drives, fundraising activities, public relations and specific events.
- Plan, prepare and conduct workshops, seminars and other training sessions for Party members.
- Field questions and requests from New Democrat members and supporters and the general public as appropriate.
- Manage a small team of organizers across the province
- Organize and support special events as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 2 cycles of election campaign experience
- Ability to work with a team, be reliable, trustworthy and organized
- Access to broad networks, especially labour and social movements
- Experience managing and training high performing staffers
- Be self-motivated and well organized
- Ability to work in a co-operative environment and strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the policies, practices and structures of the New Democratic Party
- Experience using digital campaign tools
- Excellent political judgment
- Good communication skills
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle, an asset
- Ability to work irregular hours and travel
