Caucus Coordinator
The Nova Scotia NDP Caucus seeks a motivated person based in Halifax to fulfill the position of Caucus Coordinator
Responsibilities
The responsibilities and duties of the Caucus Coordinator include the following:
- Coordinate the efficient and effective operations of the Caucus Office in accordance with the requirements of the Speakers Administration Office, the House of Assembly Management Commission, and related bodies.
- Orient Caucus staff to relevant office and government systems and assist with the navigation of these systems when necessary.
- Prepare invoices related to Caucus operations for approval and payment.
- Coordinate the recruitment and onboarding of new staff.
- Coordinating office equipment inventory, replacement, and procurement.
- With Chief of Staff and Tour Director, plan and implement Caucus events, including retreats, meetings and other events as needed.
- Other admin duties as they arise including data entry
Desired Qualifications
The Caucus Coordinator will possess the following qualifications:
- Proven organizational skills and ability to plan, execute, and document travel plans
- Demonstrated ability to work with community and social action groups
- Administrative skill for tracking travel expenses, budgets, and inventory
- Strong team player, willing to pitch in to help in a fast-paced environment
- The ability to meet deadlines, be flexible, and work with a minimum of supervision
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Interest in, experience with and knowledge of, Nova Scotia political affairs and the New Democratic Party policies and structure
- Relevant post-secondary education and training
- Bilingualism is an asset
- Willingness to work irregular hours
- A valid driver’s license, and access to a vehicle is required
Compensation:
The NDP Caucus offers a competitive salary with cost-shared health, dental, and pension benefits. Salary $65,000+ annual
