Cape Breton Centre Nomination Meeting

New Waterford - The NDP nomination meeting for Cape Breton Centre will be Thursday, February 6, 2020. Kendra Coombes, CBRM Councillor for District 11 will be nominated as the NDP candidate for the coming byelection.

“The people of Cape Breton Centre deserve to have the health care services we need in our community, not a government that closes our community hospital,” said Coombes. “I’m excited to receive the nomination and be part of Gary Burrill’s NDP team. Cape Breton Centre has been well served by Tammy Martin, and I want to continue her legacy of bold and fearless leadership to defend Cape Breton.”

NDP Leader Gary Burrill will speak at the meeting.

“We owe deep gratitude to MLA Tammy Martin for her significant work in Cape Breton Centre, and look forward to continuing that work in CBRM and throughout the province,” said NDP Leader Gary Burrill. “Kendra Coombes wil be a champion for the people of Cape Breton Centre, and for the entire island. We’re looking forward to a campaign focused on solutions to the health care crisis and the high levels of child poverty in Cape Breton. Cape Breton is only asking for fairness from Halifax and you can count on the NDP to bring that message to the Legislature.”
