Burrill: Lack of ambulances a symptom of larger health care crisis

HALIFAX -- NDP Leader Gary Burrill made the following statement upon news that a patient died this month while waiting for a delayed ambulance transfer:

“Paramedics and other health care professionals have been speaking out for months about ambulance availability problems and their negative impact on patient care. This is not hyperbole.
People should be able to expect emergency care when they need it. Chronic shortages of ambulance availability are a sign of the systemic crisis in Nova Scotia health care, which Stephen McNeil continues to deny.”
