NDP Leader in Lunenburg and Chester area Tuesday and Wednesday

LUNENBURG – NDP Leader Gary Burrill will visit the Lunenburg and Chester area on May 22 and 23. Burrill will hold a number of meetings on issues related to health care, Lyme disease, and home-based businesses.

“The health care crisis in our province is getting worse,” said Burrill. “Without a family doctor, many people on the South Shore are dealing with medical issues without the support they need, including many facing Lyme disease. Our NDP Caucus is committed to taking the health care crisis seriously and speaking directly with the people impacted.”

Burrill will also go door-to-door in the Town of Lunenburg on Tuesday afternoon to speak with people directly about their experiences with the health care system and the lack of family doctors.

“I knock on a lot of doors across Nova Scotia, and people always tell me the same thing, we need action on the doctor shortage,” said Burrill. “Across Nova Scotia, health care workers, patients, families, municipal councillors, and more are saying more needs to be done, but the McNeil Liberals continue to fall far short of an effective response to the health care crisis.”
